St. Barbara's Church

St. Barbara's church - built in neoroman style in 1859. To the end of WW II it was an Evangelical Church, now it acts as a Roman Catholic Garrison Parish.

"Gruss aus Gleiwitz"- a postcard from the past.

Znam. A chwilę musiałem główkować, choć przecież przechodziłem przez parę lat codziennie obok :)

I love the whimsy of the flower bed in contrast to the seriousness of the church architecture.

It's a lovely old church and it sure hasn't changed at all! The floral sculpture is so pretty!

Beautiful old church. The flower garden is quite interesting.

Beautiful church, I like old new comparison, but I feel a bit uneasy reading Gleiwitz.

It's interesting to see how these Evangelical churches (that have different aesthetics and meanings) can be adapted to other religions. I did an investigation on how an Orthodox Church adapted to an Anglican one here in Santiago.
